Mr. Johns

I grew up in beautiful Quincy, CA.  After high school I attended CSU, Chico where I graduated with a BA in Music Education (2008) and a Teaching Credential (2009).  I currently teach the beginning band, concert band, jazz band, choir, piano, and percussion class Bidwell Jr. High School in Chico, CA.  I am beginning my 11th year as a teacher.  My primary instruments are the saxophone and clarinet and I frequently play jazz, funk, rock, and pop gigs around Northern California with the band known as Rigmarole.

In my spare time I enjoy playing soccer, tennis, and throwing the football around with friends.  I'm quite competitive and love playing card games, board games, or pretty much any game.  I love hiking, backpacking, and swimming or just sitting down on a quiet afternoon and reading a good book.  My wife and I have two beautiful daughters aged 3 and 1/2 and 11 months.  Being a parent is the best thing you can possibly imagine.
